replenishing my oil paints

i've been starting to do some longer figure paintings these days at this school in Belmont (www.bacaa.org).. i'm working on a new one, which i can't talk about... but here's the last one i did..

i figure a couple of details won't hurt either, since when i look at small pictures of paintings i get annoyed sometimes that i can't look a bit closer at the artist's work..

this is one of my attempts at karma.. i hope to see lots more details of paintings in the future... or at least imagine them.

I enjoy that nice thick application of paint on the highlighted side of the face.....if only people had faces like that made of frosting, and you could go and sample flavors off of peoples forehead.

This is fantastic Kinman! It's been a long time since I touched oils and I am now quite intimidated by them. Keep posting more of them in the near future!

thanks for all your comments guys! to let you know, the random color choices are just guesswork.. none of it is ever as accurate as i'd like it to be (sigh).. maybe one day i'll get it righter

I have to comment again on this painting just because I keep coming back here just to look at it. I can't believe you can do this alla prima. My alla prima stuff is really lagging. I'll have to hit up the workshops this fall.
